The city of Santa Cruz de Tenerife will award its Gold Medal to the Consular Corps based in the city. Mayor José Manuel Bermúdez announced this honor unexpectedly during the traditional Gala Dinner at Club Oliver.
Attendees were visibly moved by the announcement, which highlights the Consular Corps' invaluable work in strengthening international relations, fostering institutional cooperation, and promoting the city on the global stage.
Nearly a hundred people attended the traditional evening, including institutional representatives, members of the consular corps, and key figures from the island's social and economic sectors. This year, the event also featured a Venetian Carnival theme. The hall was filled with ornamental masks, baroque details, and live music, creating a festive atmosphere that blended with the Christmas season.
The Consular Corps organizes this Gala Dinner every year to build stronger connections between local authorities and international representatives in the region, recognizing their diplomatic, cultural, and social contributions to Tenerife.
The evening ended by highlighting the friendship between different peoples and a shared commitment to an open, diverse, and globally connected society. This message captures the spirit of the consular community and its important role in Santa Cruz.
