Santa Cruz Rushes to Complete Las Teresitas Accessibility Upgrades by April 30
Santa Cruz de Tenerife is upgrading access points and facilities at Las Teresitas beach to ensure full accessibility for all visitors ahead of the summer season.
Santa Cruz de Tenerife is racing to modernize its most famous coastline. The City Council has ramped up improvement work at Las Teresitas beach to ensure full accessibility before the summer season begins.
Managed by the Departments of Public Services and Strategic Planning, the project focuses on upgrading entry points 1, 5, 7, and 10. Crews are installing modern platforms and creating new pedestrian paths to fix long-standing mobility issues. The goal is to make changing rooms and restrooms easily accessible, allowing everyone to use the facilities independently.
First Deputy Mayor Carlos Tarife has set an April 30 deadline for the work, ensuring the beach is ready for the summer crowds. Mayor José Manuel Bermúdez and Anaga District head Gladis de León emphasized that these improvements are vital, as the beach is not just a tourist spot but a central hub for the local community.
Beyond the physical upgrades, this project reflects a commitment to universal accessibility. In a popular natural area like Las Teresitas, these changes are essential to meeting modern urban planning standards. Through this investment, the City Council aims to ensure that the beach remains a symbol of the capital while providing equitable and modern services for all.
