Santa Cruz Revitalizes San Juan Festivities with Expanded Valleseco Coastal Event
Santa Cruz de Tenerife is revitalizing its San Juan festivities in Valleseco by hosting a large-scale coastal celebration featuring live music and expanded public transit to showcase the area's recent infrastructure improvements.
Santa Cruz de Tenerife is revitalizing its San Juan festivities in Valleseco this year, aiming to establish the area as a major leisure destination following recent coastal improvements. The city is expanding its traditional celebrations by incorporating the Anaga seafront, making full use of the new pedestrian platforms and sunbathing areas at the Charcos bathing site.
The event, expected to be one of the city's most popular summer kick-offs, begins at 4:00 p.m. with family-friendly inflatable water activities. As evening approaches, the focus will shift from traditional bonfires to a lively street party. The musical lineup features Iván Cacú, La Maquinaria, Orquesta Canari, and La Sabrosa, who will perform a variety of tropical and Latin hits by the sea.
To manage the expected crowds and reduce traffic congestion, the City Council has implemented a special mobility plan. Extra buses will be added to the 910 line, running between the capital’s main interchange and the Valleseco neighborhood to ensure attendees can travel to and from the event easily. This initiative serves as a test for the newly renovated coastal area, demonstrating how these public spaces can be safely and effectively used for large-scale community events.
