After 10 years of waiting in Santa Cruz, the sidewalk on Benito Pérez Armas Avenue was repaired, with 217,000 euros spent on its restoration and landscaping.

In Santa Cruz, the sidewalk on Benito Pérez Armas Avenue, near Los Gladiolos, has finally been repaired. People have been waiting for this for 10 years! The mayor of the city, José Manuel Bermúdez, together with councilors Belén Mesa and Zaida González, inspected the renovated area.

Previously, there was a problem because the sidewalk bordered private land belonging to residents of several houses. The city authorities could not do anything until it became possible to finance the repair through a special program.

According to the mayor, 217,000 euros were spent on the restoration of the wall, which is about 100 meters long. During the work, a detour had to be organized to ensure that no one was injured. Excess vegetation was removed from above, and a new beautiful garden with stones was created, which harmonizes with the appearance of the houses.

Belén Mesa added that thanks to the repair, the sidewalk has once again become safe and convenient for pedestrians. And Zaida González noted that the work lasted about five months, but now it has become much better here – it is convenient to walk, and there is more greenery.
