Santa Cruz Property Managers Demand Water Infrastructure Audit Amid Supply Complaints

Property administrators in Santa Cruz de Tenerife are calling for a city-wide water infrastructure audit and improved communication with utility provider Emmasa following persistent reports of inconsistent supply and pressure fluctuations.

Water management in Santa Cruz de Tenerife is under review following complaints from residents about inconsistent water supply. The Association of Property Administrators has asked the City Council to create a detailed record of pressure fluctuations across the city’s network. This data would help identify the most vulnerable areas and allow for better coordination with Emmasa, the company that manages the water supply.

This request follows a disagreement between property managers and the utility provider. During a meeting last Tuesday, representatives from the Association, Emmasa technicians, and city officials discussed the issue. While Emmasa claims there have been no service interruptions or pressure drops, property managers argue that technical problems have disrupted supply. They pointed to the Cruz del Señor neighborhood as a key example, noting that residents there faced significant difficulties throughout the summer.

Beyond addressing these specific incidents, the Association is calling for better communication. They want a direct line to Emmasa to receive real-time technical updates, which would help them better manage the needs of homeowners' associations during service issues. Additionally, the group is pushing for an audit of the city’s infrastructure. Given the city’s challenging terrain, which requires careful pressure monitoring at higher elevations, they argue that upgrading the network is essential to ensuring reliable water access for everyone.
