The Santa Cruz Local Police shared good news on Tuesday: a dog they found earlier in the day has been reunited with its family.
The police had posted on 'X' (formerly Twitter), asking for public help after finding the dog looking lost on the highway. The post received many responses and messages of support. Thanks to the alert being shared widely, officers were able to contact the owners.
The police publicly thanked everyone who helped. They specifically highlighted two people who took the dog off the highway, preventing a possible accident, and brought it to the police station for safekeeping.
In their message, they stated: "Many thanks to the police colleagues and to the two people who took it off the highway to bring it to headquarters."
