Santa Cruz City Council has opened registration for its 2025 Christmas Window Display Route, aiming to boost local businesses and attract visitors during the festive season with prizes for participants and voters.

The Santa Cruz City Council, through its Development Society, has opened registration for the 2025 Christmas Window Display Route. This event aims to support small and medium-sized businesses during the festive season.

Mayor José Manuel Bermúdez announced the plan, explaining that it seeks to make local shops more competitive and appealing. He added that it will also draw residents and visitors to the streets, creating a lively, festive atmosphere that encourages shopping in the city.

Bermúdez further explained that this initiative is part of the Commercial Transformation Plan for the Rambla and Salamanca areas. He said it also aims to recognize businesses that work hard to enhance the city's Christmas spirit. The Mayor believes the Christmas Window Display Route will attract thousands of potential customers, helping to establish Santa Cruz as a top destination during the holiday season.

Carmen Pérez, CEO of the Development Society, emphasized that the main goal is to improve Santa Cruz's shopping options and encourage people to visit and shop at local businesses during Christmas. She confirmed that any small or medium-sized business (SME) with a window display visible from the street is eligible to participate.

Pérez explained that businesses in the Rambla and Salamanca areas will be given special priority, as the initiative is part of the Commercial Transformation Plan for these zones. She added that this will create a more competitive, attractive, and sustainable shopping environment for all residents and visitors.

Businesses interested in participating can register online until December 5th at 2:00 PM. Once admitted, their decorated window displays must be on show to the public from December 9th to 24th. Pérez also outlined that decorations must be Christmas-themed, with a focus on creativity, the use of recycled or recyclable materials, and visual harmony.

Once the route begins, people can find information about participating shops and their locations on a web app, available in both Spanish and English. The app will also allow the public to vote for their favourite displays. Those who vote will be entered into a draw to win one of three €100 gift vouchers, redeemable at any participating business on the route.

Pérez also announced that the top three businesses will receive a social media marketing campaign worth at least €500, created by a specialist agency. They will also receive framed diplomas as official recognition.

This initiative is part of the Commercial Transformation Plan for the Rambla and Salamanca Commercial Zones. The project is co-financed by the European Union through the FEDER Canarias 2021-2027 Program, under the 'Canarias Smart Commercial Destination' call, as part of 'a way of making Europe'.

Businesses can register using the online form. For any questions, businesses can email comercio@sociedad-desarrollo.com.
