Santa Cruz Opens Free TecnoPlay Esports Registration

The Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council's Development Society is organizing the 15th Tecnológica Santa Cruz event, showing its dedication to innovation and technology. As part of this, the TecnoPlay program has opened free registration for its video game tournaments. This move highlights the city's strong support for digital culture and esports.

These competitions will take place throughout March, offering a mix of online and in-person events. Anyone interested can sign up for free at the official website: www.tecnologicasantacruz.com/tecnoplay/. You can register for one or more of the six planned tournaments.

Online tournaments are scheduled for Saturday, March 14. That day will feature:

• Rocket League: A two-player team tournament combining football and driving.
• League of Legends ARAM: An individual competition where strategy and character skills are key on a single-lane map.
• Super Smash Bros Ultimate: An individual challenge focusing on one-on-one battles with various characters.

Later, the Tenerife Espacio de las Artes (TEA) will host the in-person rounds. On Saturday, March 21, the individual Super Smash Bros Ultimate tournament will continue, alongside the EA Sports FC 26 tournament, a football simulation game where two players compete with real teams. The in-person events at TEA will wrap up on Sunday, March 22, with an individual Tekken 8 tournament, challenging players' fighting skills.

Beyond video games, TecnoPlay also plans to include Trading Card Game (TCG) competitions. More details on these will be announced soon. This variety shows the event's goal to cover many aspects of digital fun and competitive play, strengthening Santa Cruz de Tenerife's position as a center for innovation and technology.
