Santa Cruz Launches 'Ruta del Brindis' to Boost Restaurants
The Santa Cruz de Tenerife Development Society has launched the EU-funded "Ruta del Brindis" (Toast Route) event, running from November 24 to December 14, to boost local restaurants in the Rambla and Salamanca areas with a €4 tapa and drink deal.
The Santa Cruz de Tenerife Development Society is launching a new event called "Ruta del Brindis" (Toast Route). This initiative aims to boost restaurants in the Rambla and Salamanca shopping areas during November and December.
José Manuel Bermúdez, the mayor of Santa Cruz, announced the plan. He explained that this project is part of the 'Commercial Transformation Plan for the Rambla and Salamanca Commercial Zones.' It's also supported by the European Union through the FEDER Canarias 2021-2027 Program. Bermúdez said it will "boost economic activity and highlight local businesses."
The "Ruta del Brindis" will run from November 24 to December 14. During this time, customers can enjoy a special deal: a tapa and a drink for four euros. This year's theme focuses on toasts and Christmas celebrations, encouraging people to try local wines, craft beers, or traditional seasonal drinks.
Carmen Pérez, CEO of the Development Society, believes the event will attract both locals and tourists to the participating venues. She added that it creates a special offer for the Rambla and Salamanca areas. While any business in Santa Cruz can join for free, those in these specific commercial zones will get priority.
The "Ruta del Brindis" will have a website and app available in Spanish and English. It will show where establishments are located, detail their food and drink offers, and allow users to vote for their favorite tapas. Pérez mentioned that three awards will be given for the best-rated tapas. Each winning business will receive a social media marketing campaign worth at least 500 euros, plus a diploma.
Customers who participate by trying the food and voting can also win prizes. Three gift vouchers, each worth 100 euros, will be drawn among all users who vote on the app. These vouchers must be used by December 27, 2025, ideally at a participating establishment. Businesses interested in joining can register for free until November 17 at 2:00 PM via an online form.
The "Ruta del Brindis" is part of a larger plan to transform the Rambla and Salamanca shopping areas. This plan is co-funded by the European Union's FEDER Canarias 2021-2027 Program, under the slogan "A way of making Europe," as part of the Smart Commercial Destination Canary Islands initiative.
