Santa Cruz de Tenerife is launching free two-hour historical and cultural walking tours of the Rambla and Salamanca shopping areas starting this Saturday, aiming to showcase local heritage and businesses.

Santa Cruz de Tenerife is launching a new program of historical and cultural walking tours this Saturday, focusing on the Rambla and Salamanca shopping areas. The tours, organized by the Development Society, will last two hours and aim to showcase the heritage, history, and well-known businesses in these districts to both locals and visitors.

Mayor José Manuel Bermúdez explained that these tours are part of a larger Commercial Transformation Plan for the Rambla and Salamanca areas. This plan, supported by the Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council and co-funded by the European Union's FEDER Canarias 2021-2027 Program, is designed to revitalize these key commercial zones.

Carmen Pérez, CEO of the Development Society, added that the "Commercial Itineraries" project, under which these tours fall, seeks to highlight the cultural and historical richness of these areas while also promoting their businesses.

Each tour will be led by professional guides who will share insights into the historical, heritage, and commercial aspects of the locations. The program offers a total of 10 free tours – five for the Rambla area and five for Salamanca – running from this Saturday until December 13th.

Pérez emphasized that these guided tours demonstrate a commitment to boosting the local economy and supporting local businesses. She believes that such initiatives not only encourage shopping but also celebrate the history, architecture, and identity of Santa Cruz.

Specific dates and times for the Rambla tours are: November 15th at 12:30 PM, November 22nd at 12:30 PM, November 29th at 11:00 AM, December 12th at 5:00 PM, and December 13th at 12:30 PM.

The Salamanca area tours are scheduled for: November 15th at 11:00 AM, November 22nd at 11:00 AM, November 28th at 5:00 PM, November 29th at 12:30 PM, and December 13th at 11:00 AM.

These tours offer a valuable opportunity for residents and visitors to experience the heritage and urban life of the city more closely. The Rambla tour will cover contemporary city history, including the sculptural ensemble, notable buildings like the City Hall and the General Captaincy Palace, and various squares, concluding in Plaza Duggi.

The Salamanca tour will explore its history and key sites such as Plaza de La Paz, Avenida Islas Canarias, Calle Salamanca, Parque Secundino Delgado, Glorieta Estado de Virginia, the Centro Gallego building, and the Parish of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

Interested individuals can register for these free tours online. Each tour has a limit of 20 participants and requires advance booking.
