Santa Cruz has implemented a comprehensive traffic and security plan, including road closures and increased public transport, to manage potential crowds celebrating a possible CD Tenerife promotion this Friday.

Santa Cruz is preparing for large crowds this Friday in anticipation of a potential promotion for CD Tenerife. If the team secures its goal following the match at the Heliodoro Rodríguez López stadium, the City Council’s Mobility department has a security and traffic plan ready to go into effect immediately.

The strategy focuses on the area around the Cabildo, where fans traditionally gather to celebrate. To help manage the crowds and traffic, officials are encouraging the public to use public transport. Titsa has committed to adding extra buses to lines 906, 908, 935, and 936 if demand increases.

The plan includes several road closures and traffic diversions:

  • Avenida Marítima: This will be fully closed between Callejón Bouza and Imeldo Seris. Traffic from Avenida Francisco La Roche will be redirected into the Vía Litoral tunnel, and traffic near numbers 1, 4, and 6 will be diverted toward Calle La Marina.
  • Calle Villalba Hervás: Access to Avenida Marítima will be blocked, with traffic diverted to La Marina.
  • Plaza de España Parking: Entry and exit via the Alameda will remain open, as will the exit toward Avenida Marítima. However, direct access from the plaza itself will be closed.
  • Additional Closures: Calle La Marina will be closed between General Gutiérrez and Villalba Hervás. The connection between Bravo Murillo and the Marítima at the Plaza del Cabildo will also be shut.
  • Traffic Diversions: On Bravo Murillo, traffic between Imeldo Seris and the Plaza del Cabildo will be redirected. General Gutiérrez will be closed between the Plaza del Cabildo and Imeldo Seris, forcing vehicles from Calle Dr. Allart to detour via Cruz Verde, San Francisco, and Villalba Hervás.

Coordinated by the Local Police, these measures aim to balance public celebrations with road safety and order in the city center.
