In Santa Cruz, a square with a parking lot will be built after purchasing three houses.
Santa Cruz plans to build a new square with underground parking in the Toscal area, having purchased three abandoned buildings on San Martín Street.
A new square with underground parking is planned to be built in the Toscal area of Santa Cruz. To do this, the city authorities want to buy three abandoned buildings on San Martín Street.
These are buildings No. 28, 30 and 32, located between Santiago and La Rosa streets. The city is ready to pay 525,767.8 euros for them.
The total area of the plot planned for purchase is 416.3 square meters. Most of it – 360.43 square meters – falls on houses No. 28 and 30, and the rest – 55.91 meters – on house No. 32. The decision to buy was made on July 30. Now it must be published in the official gazette of the province. After that, all interested parties will be able to submit their objections within 15 days. According to the plan, in addition to the square, 67 parking spaces will be built here.
The mayor of the city, José Manuel Bermúdez, said that this is "another step towards fulfilling the promise to the residents of Toscal." He added that the new square with parking will improve the area.
According to him, these changes became possible thanks to the approval of a special plan for Toscal.
The advisor on urban planning, Zaida González, emphasized that the city authorities are working on projects that will improve the lives of residents.
"We have started the process of buying three houses on San Martín Street. After the completion of all formalities, we will be able to start the construction of a new square and parking lot," she noted.
