Roadworks on La Rosa Street in Santa Cruz de Tenerife are nearing completion, marking a major milestone for the historic El Toscal neighborhood. According to the city council, traffic will begin returning to normal in stages starting Monday, July 27, with the road expected to be fully open by Thursday, July 30.
The project involves more than just reopening the street; it includes a reorganization of local traffic flow. Most notably, Santiago Street will return to its original direction toward San Isidro Street. Crews are currently updating road signs and markings to restore the neighborhood’s standard traffic pattern.
Public transport is also adjusting to these changes. TITSA bus line 914 will begin a trial period on the new route through La Rosa Street, which will run until August 3. During this time, two temporary stops will be used to test the efficiency of the route before it is finalized.
This urban renewal project is part of a broader effort to modernize local services and improve pedestrian access. By upgrading this key corridor, the city aims to balance the needs of residents and businesses in El Toscal with the requirements of modern, sustainable urban travel.
