The second edition of Santa Cruz de Tenerife’s port festival drew nearly 5,000 attendees, reinforcing the city's strategy of revitalizing public spaces through community events that boost the local economy.

Santa Cruz de Tenerife has once again proven the success of its summer festival at the city’s port. Organized by the City Council’s Development Society, the second edition of the event matched the popularity of its debut, highlighting the local government's commitment to bringing public spaces to life through large-scale community gatherings.

The event, held on the port’s esplanade, reached full capacity. Organizers reported that 500 people attended the formal dinner, while nearly 4,500 joined the musical performances. A standout feature of the night was the attendees' adherence to a specific dress code, as the festivities continued from 7:00 p.m. until dawn.

Beyond entertainment, these events are designed to boost the local economy. The festival’s logistics encouraged attendees to support local businesses by pairing their own food with offerings from the "Degusta Santa Cruz" Product Club. This public-private partnership is a key strategy for the city, aimed at promoting local consumption in open-air settings.

The evening’s entertainment featured DJ Brito, Estrellas de Buena Vista y Más, and the Maquinaria Band. The success of this format points to a growing trend of using port areas for social events in Tenerife. Moving forward, this will require continued close coordination between the Port Authority and municipal institutions to ensure these public gatherings remain safe and viable.
