Santa Cruz de Tenerife Set for Weekend of Cultural and Sporting Events
Santa Cruz de Tenerife is hosting a diverse weekend of cultural, artistic, and sporting events, headlined by the Tenerife Peñón Fest and a variety of community-focused activities across the city.
Santa Cruz de Tenerife is gearing up for a busy weekend packed with culture and sports. City officials have announced a diverse lineup of events designed to bring neighborhoods to life while showcasing the capital as a major hub for art and heritage.
The Palmetum will be the main stage for live music, hosting the Tenerife Peñón Fest 2026 this Friday and Saturday. The festival features a strong lineup including Loquillo, Amaia, Carlos Sadness, and La La Love You. For those looking for a different vibe, the city’s local scene offers plenty of variety, from flamenco at Café Picú to electronic music sessions at En Crudo and La Movie Social Club.
The performing arts are also well-represented: the Auditorio de Tenerife will present the play El brote, while Espacio La Granja and Teatro Victoria are hosting everything from sensory workshops for young children to contemporary dance performances by La Taimada.
Community events are a key focus this weekend as well. Chimisay Park in Ofra will host a family-friendly Saturday featuring children’s theater and creative workshops. This community-focused approach also reaches the city’s libraries, which are hosting interactive sessions and motivational talks in both Añaza and the city center. For sports fans, the Pancho Camurria pavilion will host the 15th annual Oya Team boxing night, featuring a highly anticipated rivalry match between fighters from Tenerife and Gran Canaria.
The city’s cultural depth continues with several exhibitions. Museums and galleries, including MUNA, the Canary Islands Government’s Contemporary Art Gallery, and TEA Tenerife Espacio de las Artes, are hosting displays that explore identity, history, and modern art. Additionally, the public can visit the historic Masonic Temple. The weekend is rounded out by film screenings, a concert by the Tenerife Symphony Orchestra, and the DJ Symphonic show, offering something for every interest.
