Santa Cruz de Tenerife Revitalizes Historic Sites with Free Concert Series

Santa Cruz de Tenerife is breathing new life into its historic sites by hosting cultural events outside the city center. As part of a joint initiative between the Department of Culture and the Centro-Ifara District, the Los Lavaderos Art Gallery, near the Hotel Mencey, will once again host a series of live performances.

The program kicks off this Thursday at 8:30 p.m. with a concert featuring fresh takes on classic pop and rock hits. Admission is free, though entry is on a first-come, first-served basis until the venue reaches capacity.

The evening will be split into two parts. First, the stage will feature a trio consisting of Rubén Díaz (guitar), Antonio Lorenzo (violin), and Laura Picar (vocals). They will be followed by the band Reverso, led by musical director Verónica Faría on keyboards and backing vocals. The group also includes Frank Díaz (bass), Gustavo Ramírez (guitar), Juan Carlos Fuentes (drums), and vocalists Laura Picar and Yami Díaz.

These events do more than provide entertainment; they help showcase the city’s historic landmarks and bring them back into the heart of community life. By offering free access to live music, the city is making culture more inclusive while successfully blending heritage preservation with modern artistic expression.
