Santa Cruz de Tenerife Opens Registration for 2027 'Santa Cruz Entrena' Sports Program
Santa Cruz de Tenerife has opened registration for its 2027 "Santa Cruz Entrena" program, offering a variety of accessible and free sports activities to promote community well-being.
Santa Cruz de Tenerife is making local sports more accessible to improve the well-being of its residents. The City Council has announced that registration for the 2027 "Santa Cruz Entrena" program opens this week, aiming to remove the financial and travel barriers that often prevent people from staying active.
The registration process is split into two stages. From November 3 to November 30, current participants have priority to renew their spots in their existing classes. If they do not renew by the end of the month, they will lose their place. Starting December 1, any remaining spots will be open to new participants.
The program offers ten different activities, with many—such as functional training, Pilates, dance, and fitness classes for seniors—available for free to ensure everyone can participate. Aquatic activities at the Acidalio Lorenzo Municipal Pool remain paid, requiring a 10-euro registration fee plus monthly payments; interested participants should check the specific costs when signing up.
To register, new users must visit the mobile office near the Quico Cabrera Municipal Pavilion in person between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., or 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., and bring a copy of their ID. If classes fill up, the council will create waiting lists.
By hosting activities in parks, public spaces, and neighborhood centers rather than just traditional sports facilities, the city hopes to make exercise a part of daily life. This approach aims to boost physical health, social connection, and independence, particularly for older residents. Through this initiative, the City Council continues its commitment to providing year-round, community-focused sports services.
