The Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council has opened applications for cultural grants totaling over 380,000 euros to provide financial stability for local events and organizations through the 2026 budget.

The Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council has begun planning its 2026 budget by opening applications for cultural grants, as announced in the Official Gazette of the Province (BOP). Managed by the Autonomous Organization of Culture (OAC), this initiative aims to provide financial stability to a sector seeking more long-term certainty following years of post-pandemic instability.

The funding is divided into two main categories:

  • Large-scale events: These have a base budget of 100,000 euros, which could increase to 304,000 euros depending on available funds. Individual projects can receive up to 50,000 euros.
  • General cultural activities: This category has 84,000 euros available. Of this, 63,000 euros is set aside for festivals and events organized by local promoters, with a limit of 12,000 euros per proposal. The remaining 21,000 euros is for permanent cultural centers, which can apply for up to 8,000 euros. For these centers, public funding cannot cover more than 75% of the total project cost.

Mayor José Manuel Bermúdez highlighted these grants as a way to boost the local economy and community cohesion. Santiago Díaz Mejías, the Councilor for Culture, added that the goal is to create a stable partnership that makes it easier for cultural organizers to plan their work.

Applications are open from July 6 to July 31. Interested parties can find all necessary documentation and requirements on the city council’s electronic office and the OAC’s official channels.
