Santa Cruz de Tenerife Launches Self-Service Portal to Revitalize Commercial Real Estate
Santa Cruz de Tenerife has launched a new self-management portal, santacruzescomercio.com, to revitalize the city's commercial real estate market by allowing property owners to directly list and manage vacant storefronts.
Santa Cruz de Tenerife is modernizing its commercial real estate market with a new self-management system on the santacruzescomercio.com portal. Launched by the City Council’s Development Society, this initiative is designed to boost the city’s business environment by helping fill vacant properties in key areas like the Rambla and Salamanca districts.
Available since last summer, the platform allows property owners to manage their own listings. Users can upload technical details—such as square footage, pricing, and availability—along with photos. This move replaces outdated, static inventories with a dynamic, reliable database that stays current. There are currently 82 listings in the directory, a number officials expect to grow as more owners take advantage of the system. To ensure quality, all new entries undergo a brief review process before going live.
This project is part of a broader effort to revitalize the city and reduce the number of empty storefronts. By making it easier for entrepreneurs to find available spaces and connect directly with owners, the City Council hopes to simplify the process of opening a new business. The service is free to use and aims to bring more transparency to the local rental and sales market, ensuring that the city’s commercial directory remains accurate and useful for everyone.
