Santa Cruz de Tenerife Launches Free Youth Program for Final Quarter of 2026
The Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council has launched its "Distrito Joven" program, offering a diverse range of free educational, artistic, and recreational activities for youth from October through December 2026.
Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council has announced its schedule of free activities and training for young people for the final three months of 2026. Running from October through December, the "Distrito Joven" (Youth District) program will host events across all five city districts and various local schools.
The program aims to offer a mix of digital skills, physical activity, and social engagement. Tech-focused sessions include digital illustration, interface design, and basic programming. For those interested in the arts, the third annual "Distrito Talent" competition is now open for entries in acting, music, and writing; the deadline to register is October 14.
The schedule also encourages outdoor activity and well-being, featuring hiking trips in Anaga and educational visits to animal shelters to promote responsible pet ownership. Other highlights include video game tournaments, role-playing games, a Halloween camp in late October, and a "Christmas Fest" on December 18.
These initiatives are designed to provide healthy, social alternatives to sedentary lifestyles. While all activities are free, space is limited and registration is required.
