Santa Cruz de Tenerife Launches €800,000 Renovation Project for Neighborhood Centers
Santa Cruz de Tenerife has awarded an 800,000-euro contract to Ecocivil Electromur to renovate nine community centers as part of a multi-year municipal infrastructure improvement strategy.
Santa Cruz de Tenerife is launching a new phase of investment to renovate its neighborhood centers. This project is part of a long-term strategy to upgrade the facilities that serve as hubs for the city’s community associations.
The local Governing Board has awarded the contract to Ecocivil Electromur. With a budget of nearly 800,000 euros, this is the fourth project to come out of a four-year, 36.87-million-euro framework agreement signed in October 2024 to maintain municipal properties.
Work is scheduled to continue through the end of 2027. The funding is weighted toward the final year, with 279,999 euros allocated for 2026 and 489,408 euros for 2027, totaling 671,403 euros for direct construction and repairs.
Nine locations will benefit from these upgrades: the Luz y Vida, Santiago Apóstol, Yanira Ofra, Las Palmitas, San Gerardo, Acentejo, Los Candiles, and Cuchillitos de Tristán centers, as well as the municipal facilities at the La Salud Market.
Mayor José Manuel Bermúdez emphasized that these renovations are essential to keeping these community hubs functional. Javier Rivero, head of the Heritage Department, noted that the work is part of a planned effort to address long-term wear and tear. By using framework agreements, the city can streamline repairs and manage its public property maintenance more efficiently.
