Santa Cruz de Tenerife is hosting the second annual GastroMoraditas fair this weekend, featuring local artisans, live music, and family activities as part of a city-wide initiative to revitalize outlying neighborhoods.

Santa Cruz de Tenerife is once again testing its efforts to turn outlying neighborhoods into vibrant social and economic hubs. Following a successful debut, the Las Moraditas neighborhood in the Ofra-Costa Sur district is set to host the second annual GastroMoraditas 2026 Fair this weekend.

Supported by the city council, the event is spread over two days. It kicks off on Friday, May 8, from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. with a Latin music session. The main event follows on Saturday, May 9, when the neighborhood square will host a variety of cultural and commercial activities from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

The fair is designed to showcase local artisanal products while providing family-friendly entertainment. Organizers have expanded the event's layout to accommodate more visitors, including dedicated areas for dining and free children's activities. Saturday’s musical lineup features Yosan Pereda, Soni Gil, and DJ Kike, while Friday will feature performances by DJ Fran Gil and Laura Mambox.

Mayor José Manuel Bermúdez and district councilor Santiago Díaz have highlighted the importance of the fair, noting that it helps build community while giving local producers a platform to reach new customers. This initiative is part of a broader city strategy to decentralize culture and boost neighborhood identity, helping Las Moraditas shine as a key player in the local economy.
