Santa Cruz de Tenerife Hosts Armenian Artist Samvel Harutyunyan Exhibition
The Túnel del Arte at the Casino de Santa Cruz is hosting an exhibition of contemporary works by Armenian artist Samvel Harutyunyan through May 16.
Santa Cruz de Tenerife is expanding its cultural scene this month with a new exhibition showcasing visual arts from the Caucasus. The Túnel del Arte space at the Casino de Santa Cruz is currently hosting a collection of works by Armenian artist Samvel Harutyunyan, which will be open to the public until May 16.
The exhibition opened with an event attended by José Marrón, CEO of Public Societies for the Island Council, alongside the gallery’s cultural advisor, Alejandro Tosco, and the artist’s representative, David Hovhanniyan.
This project reflects a growing effort by local institutions to bring international art to the islands, particularly from regions rarely seen in local galleries. Harutyunyan is a leading figure in contemporary Armenian art, and his work blends traditional cultural identity with modern artistic styles. By hosting such exhibitions, the city is broadening its cultural reach, giving local audiences access to global perspectives that are often missing from the capital’s usual gallery circuit.
