Santa Cruz de Tenerife is hosting its 49th annual botany, craft, and literature exhibition at García Sanabria Park, featuring over 100 stalls and a diverse cultural program as part of the city's May Festival celebrations.

García Sanabria Park in Santa Cruz de Tenerife is once again the heart of the city’s social and cultural life. The 49th annual botany, craft, and literature exhibition is now underway, running until next Monday as part of the city’s May Festival celebrations. The event aims to bring the community together while supporting local businesses and traditions.

More than just a market, the fair is a vital boost for local artisans and publishers. This year’s setup is impressive, featuring 83 booths for crafts and products, alongside 31 dedicated spaces for the Book Fair. These book stalls are spread across the Domingo Pérez Minik promenade, the Rambla de Santa Cruz, and the area near the Ángel Guimerá space, highlighting the capital’s commitment to literature.

At the opening ceremony, Mayor José Manuel Bermúdez, Cabildo President Rosa Dávila, and Deputy Minister of the Presidency Alfonso Cabello emphasized the importance of keeping these traditions alive. Beyond the shopping, the fair offers a full schedule of cultural events. Highlights include daily puppet shows by Maese Villarejo and various folk music performances throughout the week.

There are also plenty of activities for families. A painting and drawing contest for children aged 3 to 12 will take place this Sunday at 5:00 p.m., with registration now open at the municipal information desk. The event will conclude on Monday at 9:00 p.m. with the awards ceremony for the Natural Flower Cross Competition, a beloved local tradition. The fair is open daily from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
