The 11th Multidisciplinary Conference returns to Santa Cruz de Tenerife from November 9 to 19, featuring a free series of expert presentations bridging science, medicine, and the arts at the Royal Canarian Academy of Fine Arts.
The 11th Multidisciplinary Conference returns to Santa Cruz de Tenerife from November 9 to 19, once again bridging the gap between science and the arts. Hosted by the three Canarian Royal Academies—Fine Arts, Medicine, and Sciences—the event will take place at the Royal Canarian Academy of Fine Arts (RACBA). Admission is free until the venue reaches capacity.
The two-week program features evening sessions starting at 7:00 p.m., covering a diverse range of topics from neuroscience to musicology. The series opens on November 9 with José Miguel Pacheco Castelao, who will examine the geometric structures in Wassily Kandinsky’s art and their connection to quantum mechanics. The closing session on November 19 will feature Isabel Saavedra Robaina, who will discuss the historical preservation of musical heritage at the Cathedral of Santa Ana, building on the work of researchers Lola de la Torre Champsaur and Lothar Siemens.
Health and medical research are also key themes this year. On November 10, Manuel Mas García will discuss dementia prevention and the lifestyle factors that help maintain brain health. On November 17, Santiago Ramón y Cajal Agüeras will share updates in oncology, focusing on precision medicine techniques designed to improve the effectiveness of immunotherapy and chemotherapy.
Rounding out the scientific program, Jezabel Curbelo Hernández will present mathematical methods for studying fluid dynamics on November 16, helping to explain how air and water move and mix. To balance the technical presentations, pianist Luis López will perform a recital on November 18 dedicated to French composers, including Claude Debussy, Maurice Ravel, and Erik Satie, featuring works such as Pavane pour une infante défunte and the Gnossiennes.
