The final phase of Santa Cruz de Tenerife’s commercial revitalization program is underway, with residents having until November 2 to redeem remaining vouchers at 275 participating local businesses.

The final phase of the commercial revitalization program, led by the Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council and the Federation of Urban Areas of the Canary Islands (FAUCA), is now underway. Shoppers have until Monday, November 2, to use their remaining vouchers at any of the 275 participating local businesses. To complete a purchase, customers must present their national identity document; the system will then send a confirmation email detailing their remaining balance.

This sixth edition of the program has been highly successful, with 92.41% of the total budget—over 369,000 euros—already spent in the local economy. Fashion retailers have been the most popular choice, accounting for 19.83% of transactions, followed by bookstores (14.14%) and hair salons (8.96%). By district, the Southwest leads in usage at 96.07%, followed by Ofra-Costa Sur (95.87%), Centro-Ifara (92.08%), and Salud-La Salle (91.31%).

Designed to boost local trade and combat seasonal slumps, the initiative also included a special program for Sundays in high-traffic tourist zones. That portion of the campaign ended on October 25 with a 99.16% redemption rate. Over those four Sundays, the program generated 118,660.52 euros, with 39 businesses using nearly all of their allocated funds.

The program is managed through an official website, where residents can check real-time voucher availability at specific stores. This transparency is key to managing the budget for a project that provides direct financial support to small and medium-sized businesses during a time of rising costs and tighter family budgets. A full list of participating stores is available on the city’s official portal.
