The Santa Cruz de Tenerife Book Fair returns to García Sanabria Park from April 30th to May 4th, featuring a diverse program of local and national authors, literary discussions, and exhibitions to promote reading across the islands.

The Santa Cruz de Tenerife Book Fair returns to García Sanabria Park this week, cementing its status as a key cultural event for the islands. Running from this Thursday through May 4th, the fair is supported by the Cabildo de Tenerife and the Canary Islands Government.

Featuring 31 exhibitors and interactive attractions like a literary photo booth, the event aims to be more than just a marketplace; it is designed as a space for discussing identity and modern creativity. The five-day program highlights both local Canarian writers and prominent national authors.

Activities kick off on April 30th with a performance by Aída González Rossi. Throughout the week, authors including Rayco Pulido, Elena Correa, Jorge Dávila, Sergio del Molino, Sara Torres, María del Mar Rodríguez, Sara Búho, and Óscar Liam will present their latest work. The fair also dedicates space to the local publishing industry, featuring imprints such as Editorial Zech, Diego Pun Ediciones, Centro de la Cultura Popular Canaria, LeCanarien Ediciones, and Algani Editorial, alongside a professional meeting hosted by the Literary School.

The fair also explores how different art forms intersect. On May 1st, for example, experts in theater and education will examine the work of Ángel Guimerá through a mix of performance and discussion.

José Carlos Acha, the Minister of Culture and Museums, noted that the Cabildo’s involvement is part of a broader effort to promote reading as a fundamental right. By supporting creators, libraries, and reading clubs, the initiative aims to overcome the challenges of island life. Ultimately, the fair serves as a vital hub for Tenerife’s publishing sector, showcasing a blend of emerging talent and established voices.
