The Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council has approved a 152,974-euro road maintenance plan to repair infrastructure and expand parking in the Ofra-Costa Sur district over the next four months.

The Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council has approved a new road maintenance plan for the Ofra-Costa Sur district. As part of the "Urban Impulse" initiative, the council is allocating 152,974 euros to repair local infrastructure.

Mayor José Manuel Bermúdez stated that this project is part of a broader effort to rebalance the city’s resources and address wear and tear in areas outside the city center. The work is scheduled to be completed over the next four months.

The largest portion of the budget, 82,764 euros, is dedicated to the parking lot on Avenida Los Príncipes, near the local health center. This project will double the number of parking spaces from 60 to 130 and fix existing drainage and surface issues.

The remaining funds will cover three other key improvements:

  • Calle Izquierdo Azcárate: 28,469 euros to improve rainwater drainage and resurface the road.
  • Senda Trasera: 27,991 euros to repair damaged pavement.
  • Calle Sansón y Barrios: 13,749 euros to fix deformations in the road.

Carlos Tarife, head of the Department of Public Services, noted that all these sites will also receive new road markings. These upgrades, combined with the resurfacing work, are designed to improve safety for both drivers and pedestrians. This project is part of a larger municipal commitment to invest 100 million euros over the next four years, focusing on accessibility and neighborhood maintenance across the city.
