Santa Cruz de Tenerife will implement significant traffic restrictions and parking bans in the Salud-La Salle district this Sunday, May 24, to accommodate a film production.

Santa Cruz de Tenerife will face significant traffic disruptions this Sunday, May 24, as the city hosts a film production. To accommodate the shoot, the City Council has announced a special traffic plan that will restrict driving and parking in the Salud-La Salle district from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

While Santa Cruz is increasingly popular as a filming location—providing a boost to the local economy—these productions require careful planning to manage the impact on residents. The city’s Mobility department and local police have coordinated the following restrictions for the 15-hour window:

  • Avenida Manuel Hermoso Rojas: The two uphill lanes will be closed between Avenida de la Constitución and Calle Alcalde José Emilio García Gómez. Drivers will be diverted toward Avenida de la Constitución. Additionally, left turns from the downhill lane at Calle Pedro Modesto Campos are prohibited.
  • Calle Alcalde José Emilio García Gómez: All three lanes heading toward Álvaro Rodríguez López and Áurea Díaz-Flores Hernández will be closed. Drivers will still be able to turn toward Avenida Manuel Hermoso Rojas in the downhill direction.
  • Street Closures: Parking and traffic are prohibited on Unión Artística El Cabo, Miguel Maffiotte Miller, Pedro Modesto Campos, and Los Llanos Seis.
  • Intermittent Delays: Traffic on Álvaro Rodríguez López and Áurea Díaz-Flores Hernández may be stopped for up to five minutes at a time throughout the day.

Local authorities advise residents and visitors to plan their journeys in advance, use alternative routes where possible, and follow all temporary road signs to ensure safety during the filming.
