Santa Cruz de Tenerife will implement temporary lane closures on Galcerán and Miraflores streets from September 7 to September 10 to facilitate the construction of a new 60-unit housing development.

Traffic in central Santa Cruz de Tenerife will be disrupted next week due to the construction of a new 60-unit housing development. The city council has announced that temporary lane closures will be in place on Galcerán and Miraflores streets from Monday, September 7, to Thursday, September 10, to allow for the installation of safety fencing.

To minimize traffic delays, the municipal Department of Mobility and Universal Accessibility has scheduled the work in two stages:

  • Monday, Sept. 7, and Tuesday, Sept. 8: The right lane of Galcerán Street, heading toward Plaza Weyler, will be closed between the Ramón y Cajal extension and Miraflores Street.
  • Wednesday, Sept. 9, and Thursday, Sept. 10: Work will shift to Miraflores Street, where the left lane will be closed starting from the Galcerán intersection.

While road closures are a standard part of urban development, the city has planned these works carefully to avoid major congestion. Drivers are encouraged to plan their routes accordingly. The restrictions will be lifted as soon as the safety barriers are installed, and normal traffic flow will resume.
