Santa Cruz de Tenerife Announces Second Annual "Welcome to Summer" Festival
Santa Cruz de Tenerife will host its "Welcome to Summer" festival on June 19 at the city's port, featuring live music and dining to boost local tourism and the economy.
Santa Cruz de Tenerife is gearing up for its latest summer festival, with organizers hoping to match the economic and social success of the event's debut. The "Welcome to Summer" festival will take place on June 19 at the city’s port area, running from 8:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. and featuring a mix of live music and local food.
Mayor José Manuel Bermúdez, joined by representatives from the Development Society, the regional government, and local business groups like FAUCA and Zona Centro, introduced the event at the Palacio de Carta. The festival is part of a broader plan to revitalize the city center and boost tourism by hosting large-scale events. Inspired by international "white dinner" trends, the event encourages attendees to dress entirely in white.
The port venue can accommodate up to 5,000 guests and will be divided into two main areas, one of which is dedicated to catering. Tickets for the dining options are already available through the event's official website.
This festival reflects a growing trend across the Canary Islands, where public and private sectors are working together to support local businesses and reduce the impact of seasonal tourism. By backing these events, the Canary Islands Government aims to stimulate the local economy, particularly within the retail and hospitality industries.
