Santa Cruz de Tenerife Announces Packed Weekend of Cultural and Social Events
Santa Cruz de Tenerife is hosting a diverse array of cultural, musical, and family-oriented events this weekend to foster community engagement across the city's neighborhoods and major venues.
Santa Cruz de Tenerife is gearing up for a busy weekend of social and cultural events, according to the city council. From Thursday through Sunday, the city is focusing on bringing leisure activities to both local neighborhoods and major city venues to ensure there is something for everyone.
A key goal of this weekend is to bring people together in public spaces. The "Vive La Rosa" initiative this Saturday will turn the street into a hub for sports and family-friendly activities. Meanwhile, the neighborhoods of El Draguillo and Casas de la Cumbre will celebrate their local identity with traditional religious ceremonies and street dances featuring local orchestras like KDTES and Tenerife.
The city is also cementing its reputation as a cultural hotspot. The Adán Martín Auditorium kicks off its 2026-2027 season with the Tenerife Symphony Orchestra performing Mahler. Other musical highlights include the Keroxen Festival at El Tanque and Tensamba 2026 at Café Teatro Rayuela. Film lovers can enjoy the MUSA Mexico 2026 series at the Museum of Nature and Archaeology, while literature fans can attend events at the Cabildo Bookstore, including a tribute to Dulce Xerach and a tour based on the book "La tuerta."
Large-scale entertainment will also be a major feature. On Saturday, the Alameda del Duque de Santa Elena hosts the Mojitos Vacilón Fest, celebrating the historical connection between the Canary Islands and Cuba. Additionally, the Fairgrounds will host the Noctámbula Tenerife festival, followed by Summer Pop Tenerife 2026 on Sunday.
The city council has also expanded its programs for families and young people. The library network is hosting workshops on bookbinding, breastfeeding, and storytelling, while sports fans can enjoy padel at Las Delicias or video game tournaments at the Lázaro Siliuto Youth Center. These events complement the city’s permanent attractions, such as exhibitions on the history of the local press and the life of Alfonso García-Ramos, as well as tours of the Masonic Temple.
