The Santa Cruz de Tenerife Carnival has announced its 2027 schedule, with main street celebrations set for February 19th to 28th to enhance logistical efficiency and public participation.

The schedule for the 2027 Santa Cruz de Tenerife Carnival is set. Following discussions between the city council and participating groups, officials have announced that the main street celebrations will take place from February 19th to 28th. The city council stated that this shift is intended to improve logistics and overall operations.

Reaching this agreement required careful planning to balance the needs of the various groups with the event calendar. The festivities will officially begin on January 22nd with the opening ceremony. In response to requests from performers, the musical competition will start on Saturday, January 23rd. The Fairgrounds will then host a busy series of events, including choreography contests on January 24th, children’s murgas on January 29th and 30th, rondallas on January 31st, and the adult murgas final on February 6th.

The first half of February will feature the Children’s Queen election on February 7th, the senior citizens' pageant on February 10th, the Canción de la Risa on February 12th, the comparsas competition on February 13th, and the costume parade on February 14th. The lead-up to the main week concludes with the Queen Election Gala on February 17th, following the Los Fregolinos concert and the Zarzuela Festival.

The street celebrations begin on February 19th with the cavalcade. Highlights include the Ritmo y Armonía contest on February 20th, the fourth Dragnaval gala on February 22nd, and the Coso Apoteosis parade. The carnival will wrap up on February 28th. The city government notes that these changes are designed to make better use of public resources and encourage greater participation.
