Santa Cruz Council Restores China Restaurant Access Blocked by Promenade Works
Santa Cruz City Council is resolving access issues for a historic China restaurant on Anaga Avenue, cut off by promenade renovation fencing, promising a finished pathway and improved signage by the end of today after the owner threatened legal action.
Santa Cruz City Council plans to resolve an issue for the historic China restaurant on Anaga Avenue. The restaurant has been cut off from customers by fencing put up for the ongoing promenade renovation work.
Javier Rivero, the Public Works Councilor, met yesterday with owner Javier Lu. Lu had threatened to sue the City Council or claim €1,000 in compensation for lost business, which he attributed to the blocked access.
Rivero stated that by the end of today, "this pathway will be finished, allowing people to walk along the restaurant's front and enter from both directions – from the old jet-foil area towards Plaza de España and vice versa." He added that signage would also be improved, though he maintained there had been no issue with entering the restaurant.
