The sixth edition of Santa Cruz de Tenerife’s consumption voucher program has nearly sold out, injecting over 280,000 euros into the local economy in just 16 days.

The sixth edition of the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Consumption Vouchers has been a massive success, with nearly all 16,000 vouchers sold in just over two weeks. Only 345 vouchers remain, all of which are exclusively for use in the Anaga district, as all other areas have sold out.

The program allows residents to buy 25 euros of credit for just 15 euros to spend at local shops. So far, the initiative has injected over 280,000 euros into the city’s economy, utilizing more than 71% of the total campaign budget in just 16 days. The vouchers are being used quickly: six businesses—Orly, Baby Shower, Manocar, Aquiles Permuy Hair & Beauty, Loverde, and Comic Revolution—have already hit the 4,000-euro redemption limit, while another 25 shops have already used more than half of their allocation.

Mayor José Manuel Bermúdez praised the program, noting how vital this support is for keeping local businesses thriving. Carmen Pérez, CEO of the Development Society, is encouraging residents to snap up the final remaining vouchers before the November deadline.

To keep the system secure, users must provide their national ID (DNI) for every transaction, and they will receive an electronic notification after each purchase to track their remaining balance. The city is still accepting registrations for new businesses until November to grow the current network of 268 participating shops. Because funds are being spent so quickly, officials recommend checking the official campaign website for real-time availability before heading out to shop.
