From September 3, consumer vouchers can be used in any district of Santa Cruz, and the exchange limit will be increased for shops on La Rosa street.

Starting next Wednesday, September 3rd, Santa Cruz will introduce new rules for the use of consumer vouchers. Now they can be exchanged in any district of the city, as announced by the Mayor, José Manuel Bermúdez.

He explained that three changes are being introduced to support this program:

  • Vouchers can be used in any district, without restrictions.
  • Vouchers that have not yet been sold can be purchased online without being tied to a specific district.
  • The exchange limit for vouchers will be increased for shops on La Rosa Street.

That is, from September 3rd, you will be able to use your voucher in any store where there is still an available limit, regardless of where you bought it. And shops on La Rosa Street will be able to accept vouchers for up to €8,000 (previously €6,000).

Carmen Pérez, General Director of the Development Society, added that these changes will help both residents and entrepreneurs. She also noted that the website will be down on September 2nd due to technical work. Everything will be up and running in the new way from 12:00 on September 3rd.

According to Carmen Pérez, the ability to use vouchers in any district opens up new opportunities for everyone. And although the program is already successful, they hope that these changes will further support the local economy.

There are currently only 654 vouchers left for purchase on the website. And from September 3rd, they can be used in any participating store. Stores that have not yet joined the program can do so and receive additional income.

To date, 85.43% of the vouchers sold have already been used, which is more than €550,000 that has gone to support local businesses. Vouchers can be used until November 16th.

Carmen Pérez also emphasized that increasing the limit for shops on La Rosa Street should help local entrepreneurs while renovation work is underway there.

In total, 319 stores are participating in this program, and 299 of them have already benefited from it. Vouchers are most actively used in the Southwestern District (95.82%), and least on La Rosa Street (67.70%).

Carmen Pérez also noted that 60 stores have already reached the limit for voucher turnover.

Purificación Dávila, Councilor for the Presidency, emphasized that the City Hall supports this program, allocating €500,000 to it. She believes that this is an effective way to help both businesses and residents.

The President of FAUCA, Abbas Muhiar, added that these changes support small local businesses and stimulate the city's economy.
