Santa Cruz Concert ‘Boleros Against the Fire’ to Support Local Resident
The Los Lavaderos Art Hall in Santa Cruz de Tenerife is hosting a charity concert titled Boleros Against the Fire this evening to raise funds for a local resident who lost her home in a recent blaze.
Live music in Santa Cruz de Tenerife is doing more than just providing entertainment; it is becoming a vital way to support the local community. This evening, the Los Lavaderos Art Hall will host a special concert at 7:00 p.m. titled Boleros Against the Fire. This event, added to the tenth edition of the Lavaderos Live Music series, aims to raise funds for an El Toscal resident who lost her home in a fire on August 1st.
The concert is a purely altruistic effort, featuring local musicians who are performing for free to help the family in need. Admission is free until the venue reaches capacity, and a charity box office has been set up at the entrance for donations. Organizers say the goal is to connect the arts with the immediate needs of the neighborhood.
The lineup includes performances by José Luis León, the group Cancioneros (from the La Peña del Lunes collective), Fragilísticos, pianist and singer Ruimán, performer Juani P. Zuppo with pianist Esther Medina, and the ensemble Guayaquí 3, featuring renowned bolero singer Beni Baute. The concert will also serve as a tribute to the Trío Ucanca, who are currently off the stage due to health issues.
Mayor José Manuel Bermúdez and District Councilor Purificación Dávila have praised the event as a powerful example of social unity. The organizers believe this response highlights how music can bring people together to face adversity, with the El Toscal neighborhood serving as the heart of this solidarity effort.
