The Santa Cruz de Tenerife Carnival kicks off its amusement fair this Friday in the port area, offering 82 attractions, including new roller coasters and thrill rides, until February 22nd.

The Santa Cruz de Tenerife Carnival is getting even more exciting starting this Friday, with the opening of its amusement fair. This funfair will be open until February 22nd, which is Piñata Sunday. For the second year in a row, it's set up in the port area of Santa Cruz. This location was chosen to make things easier and safer for visitors.

Setting up large events like this in port areas helps manage big crowds, making it easier for people to get in and out safely. The Santa Cruz de Tenerife Carnival is recognized internationally as a major tourist event. The amusement fair is a key part of the celebrations, adding more variety to the festival and attracting families and young people who want something different from the usual parades and street parties.

This year, visitors can look forward to two new roller coasters. One is the popular 'Ratón Vacilón', and the other is the 'Jet Star', a brand-new ride for the Canary Islands, promising a fast-paced experience. Another new ride is 'Experience', which lifts riders high up and spins them around completely. Also, the tall 'Space Roller' ride is expected to be a major highlight, known for its unique design and thrilling operation.

Besides these new rides, the fair still has all the usual favourites. These include bumper cars, a haunted house, the Ferris wheel, the Grand Prix, the Viking boat, and the grasshopper ride. There's also a special area for younger children and plenty of food stalls. Overall, there are 82 different attractions and stalls.

From Monday to Thursday, the fair will be open from 5:00 PM to 10:30 PM. On weekends, it stays open later, until 11:30 PM, and on Sundays, it opens earlier at 4:30 PM. However, during the main Carnival days, there will be special hours. The fair will open from midday and stay open until dawn, especially on important days like the Cavalcade, the main festival weekend, and Piñata days. This funfair has become a vital part of the Carnival, drawing in families and visitors and offering more entertainment choices beyond the street parties.
