Santa Cruz Carnival Ends with 400,000-Strong Finale
Santa Cruz de Tenerife's Carnival concluded with a massive final day that drew nearly 400,000 people for over eighteen hours of music and performances.
Santa Cruz de Tenerife wrapped up its Carnival yesterday with a massive final day that drew nearly 400,000 people, according to local police figures. This huge turnout, which lasted from morning until dawn, highlights the sheer scale of the event and the logistical challenge of managing such a major festival, recognized as one of the most important globally.
The final day combined several celebrations: the second Daytime Carnival, the Cuban Carnival on La Noria street, and the traditional night dances in the Cuadrilátero area. Together, these events offered more than fifty performances spread across the main stages, providing over eighteen hours of non-stop music.
The Daytime Carnival, which started at noon, showcased both local and international artists. The Francisco La Roche stage kicked off at 2:00 PM with DJ Wes, followed by Leoni Torres. At 5:30 PM, Eddy Herrera played for an hour and a half, then Pepe Benavente took over. Later that evening, Sebastián Yatra, Tay de León, and Nicky Jam performed, with Nicky Jam on stage from 9:30 PM to 11:00 PM. DJ Jonay then closed the show, playing until six in the morning.
Meanwhile, La Candelaria square, home to the Dormitorum stage, was another key spot. From 1:00 PM, carnival groups and artists like Nueva Línea, Pepe Benavente, and El Morocho kept the energy high. Later, Tonny Tun Tun performed at 2:30 PM, followed by Maquinaria Band, and a second set from Nueva Línea. Orchestras Saoco, Wamampy, Tropin, Generasión, Sonora Olympia, and Dinacord also played, alongside DJ Osorio.
