The Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council successfully auctioned 41 stalls for the 2026 Carnival, taking place from February 13-22, raising €194,265.05 to support the festival.
The Santa Cruz de Tenerife Carnival in 2026 will take place from February 13 to 22. This street festival, dedicated to Latin Rhythms, will feature 41 stalls selling Carnival items, drinks, and food. These stalls will be located on Valentín Sanz, Villalba Hervás, La Marina, and Castillo streets, as well as in Plaza de España and Plaza de la Candelaria.
The Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council, through its Fiestas de Santa Cruz department, held an auction for these stalls today, Tuesday. Bidding was conducted by a show of hands, using an open outcry system. The starting prices for the stalls were the same as in previous years. They ranged from 620.08 euros for the smallest stalls to 17,584.84 euros for the larger ones in Plaza de España and Plaza de la Candelaria. The highest bid reached 65,063.91 euros for one of the larger stalls in Plaza de España.
In total, 41 out of 52 available stalls were successfully auctioned off, bringing in 194,265.05 euros. This amount provides a significant financial boost for the maintenance and improvement of the Carnival itself. Eleven stalls remained unsold. Additionally, Fiestas de Santa Cruz has reserved 33 more stalls for commercial firms sponsoring the Carnival, who can secure them by paying a fee.
All the stalls will be open to the public from February 13 to 22, coinciding with the dates of the street Carnival events.
