Santa Cruz Boosts Public Transport for Major Concerts on August 1

Santa Cruz de Tenerife is adjusting its traffic and transport plans for August 1st to manage the large crowds expected for concerts by Romeo Santos, Prince Royce, and UB40 at the port and Palmetum.

To reduce traffic congestion in the city center, the City Council and the local transport company, Titsa, are encouraging attendees to use public transport instead of private cars. This approach supports the city’s ongoing efforts to lower carbon emissions and ease road traffic.

Under the new plan, Titsa will increase service on bus lines 972, 908, and 974, all of which depart from the Santa Cruz Interchange. Nine extra trips have been added to help spectators leave the venues safely and efficiently once the concerts end. These measures are designed to handle the high demand and prevent the typical traffic jams often associated with large-scale events.
