Santa Cruz Begins Road Resurfacing Project in Salud-La Salle District
Santa Cruz de Tenerife will begin a nine-day, 108,000-euro resurfacing project on Calle Granadilla starting Monday, May 18, requiring temporary traffic detours and bus route adjustments.
Starting Monday, May 18, traffic in the Salud-La Salle district of Santa Cruz will change as work begins on Calle Granadilla. The Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council is investing 108,000 euros to resurface the road as part of a wider plan to repair the city’s aging infrastructure.
The project is expected to last nine days. To prioritize worker safety and reduce noise for residents at night, construction will take place daily between 7:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. During this time, drivers will need to follow detours and observe new parking restrictions. The work has been divided into three stages to help manage the disruption.
In addition to repaving, crews will repaint road markings to improve safety in this busy residential area. To minimize inconvenience, the council has worked with TITSA to adjust bus routes and move public transport stops.
These repairs are essential to prevent minor surface wear from turning into more expensive structural damage. Throughout the project, the City Council will ensure that emergency vehicles and residents can still access their garages. Temporary signs will be in place to guide drivers, and the council will provide regular updates to the community as the work progresses.
