Santa Cruz Begins Hamilton Street Pedestrian Upgrades
The Santa Cruz City Council has begun improvements on Carlos J.R. Hamilton Street in Residencial Anaga to enhance pedestrian safety and accessibility at crossings, with work expected to cause temporary traffic diversions until November 21.
The Santa Cruz City Council, working through its Centro–Ifara District, is starting improvements on Carlos J.R. Hamilton Street in Residencial Anaga. The aim is to upgrade the pedestrian crossings, making them more accessible and safer for everyone.
The work begins today and is expected to last until November 21. It will concentrate on the intersections of Carlos J.R. Hamilton with Gáldar and Elías Ramos González streets, with the goal of making this busy residential area safer and easier for pedestrians.
During this time, temporary traffic diversions will be in place, and alternative routes for pedestrians will be set up. Mayor José Manuel Bermúdez explained that the project will create "a more pedestrian-friendly environment, giving them priority over vehicles."
