In October-November, the city of Santa Cruz de Tenerife will host the V ProCine Days – an event for those who love contemporary cinema. It is organized by the Institute of Cinematographic Education and Research (IFIC). You can register now on the website: jornadas.programadecine.com.

The events will take place on October 14, 15, 16, 28 and 29, as well as November 4 and 5. Among the guests will be famous filmmakers such as Montse Triola, Luis Miñarro, Haione Camborda and Marina García López.

The program includes six master classes and a round table on "Film Production in the Canary Islands: Opportunities of the Archipelago". Canarian directors and producers David Baute, Marina Alberti and Octavio Guerra will discuss how to make films on the islands. For the first time, there will be an online format with Indian director Payal Kapadia and a virtual master class with producer María Zamora.

Film screenings and discussions are open to everyone. The participation fee is 50 euros. This amount includes attendance at all screenings, dialogues and other educational programs. For members of certain organizations (such as the Audiovisual Cluster of the Canary Islands), the cost will be 40 euros.

For those who participated in ProCine Days in 2023, and for students of audiovisual specialties, there is a discount – 30 euros. To receive a discount, you must confirm your status. Participants who attend 80% of the program will receive a certificate of 35 hours of training.

The V IFIC Film Specialization Program is an opportunity to communicate with filmmakers and producers from different countries and learn about the different stages of film creation. The producer is a key figure who helps bring a creative idea to life and resolves legal and administrative issues.

Over three weeks, six films will be screened with discussions at TEA Tenerife Espacio de las Artes. Three films will be shown in the Canary Islands for the first time: "City Without Sleep", "Magallanes" and "Maternal". The round table will also take place at TEA, and the master classes will be held at the Chamber of Commerce in Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

In previous years, the IFIC Program has been attended by famous filmmakers such as Oliver Laxe, Albert Serra and others. This confirms the importance of this event for the film industry.

The initiative is supported by the Cabildo de Tenerife, the Ayuntamiento de Santa Cruz de Tenerife and the Ministry of Culture with financial support from the European Union.
