The city of Santa Cruz de Tenerife has decided to upgrade its taxi service. Now you can order a car through a special application. The city council has already allocated almost 300,000 euros for this.
They say it will be a convenient system: both an application for passengers and a separate program for drivers. It will be possible to call a taxi for now or book it for a specific time.
In the application, you can specify what kind of car you need: for example, if you have a pet or you need a large car for several people.
The mayor of the city, José Manuel Bermúdez, believes that this will make the city more modern and improve the work of taxis. And the advisor on communal services, Carlos Tarife, added that taxi drivers will be able to see where there are free spaces in the parking lots and where other cars are located, in order to arrive at the call faster.
The city council will monitor the operation of the program so that it can be improved in the future.
