Santa Cruz Adds Free Maldita Nerea Christmas Concert
Santa Cruz de Tenerife expands its festive offerings with a free Maldita Nerea concert on January 3rd, joining a comprehensive Christmas program of live music and diverse family activities.
Santa Cruz de Tenerife has added another free concert to its Christmas schedule. The band Maldita Nerea will play on January 3rd in Plaza de España. This concert is part of the Gastronavidad Market, an event running from December 13th to January 6th, offering shows and activities for everyone.
Before this, the city had already announced three other free concerts for December, also linked to the Gastronavidad Market: Leoni Torres on December 13th, Despistaos on December 20th, and Fran Perea on December 27th. All these events are part of the Santa Cruz City Council's official Christmas program.
Mayor José Manuel Bermúdez explained that these events are part of a wider plan to bring the city to life during Christmas. He mentioned the program, called 'Santa Cruz, where Christmas is born,' is designed for all ages and families. It includes popular activities but also new additions like a New Year's Eve celebration for children, an afternoon event for those over 60 ('Tardeo +60'), an ice rink in the Ofra-Costa Sur area, and Christmas movies in García Sanabria Park.
Bermúdez stressed that the aim is to keep Santa Cruz de Tenerife vibrant throughout the Christmas season with a mix of cultural, musical, sports, children's, festive, and charity events. These are meant for both locals and tourists visiting the city.
With this latest concert, the Gastronavidad Market is set to become one of the city's main Christmas attractions. It will offer live music, entertainment, food, and family activities right in the centre of Santa Cruz.
