San Miguel de Abona has officially opened "La Gran Manzana," an 18,000-square-meter sustainable retail and leisure complex strategically located near Tenerife South Airport.

San Miguel de Abona has officially opened "La Gran Manzana," the municipality's first large-scale retail center. This project aims to transform the shopping landscape in the south of Tenerife and highlights a growing trend among developers to prioritize sustainability for long-term success.

Spanning 18,000 square meters, the complex is strategically located next to the TF-1 motorway, providing easy access to Tenerife South Airport. Beyond standard fashion and service outlets, the center emphasizes energy efficiency. It features a 1,100 kW solar power plant, energy storage systems, and innovative technology that generates drinking water from the atmosphere, setting a new standard for sustainable infrastructure in the Canary Islands.

The center is designed to be versatile. It is already home to a Fitness Park gym, along with various shops and restaurants. A second phase of development is planned for the coming months, which will add a bowling alley and a high-end cinema to attract both local residents and tourists.

The design also focuses on modern logistics, offering over 1,000 parking spaces and 50 electric vehicle charging points. With this launch, San Miguel de Abona is establishing itself as a key commercial hub, adding much-needed leisure and service options to one of the island's most active economic areas. The center’s performance in the coming months will be a strong indicator of how the southern retail market is adapting to the rising demand for multifunctional spaces.
