San Cristóbal de La Laguna Police Launch New Drone Unit to Enhance Emergency Response

The San Cristóbal de La Laguna Local Police have launched a new drone unit to improve their response to emergencies and large-scale events. The initiative follows a period of specialized training for officers, with the drones officially unveiled recently at the Plaza de La Concepción.

The city introduced these unmanned aircraft to better navigate the area’s challenging terrain and complex urban layout. According to Councilor for Citizen Security Badel Albelo, the drones provide real-time data, allowing police to make informed decisions while keeping officers out of harm’s way in high-risk situations. Selected with expert guidance from Alisios Dron, the equipment features thermal sensors and high-resolution cameras, which are vital for locating victims, monitoring infrastructure, and managing crowds.
