The 2026 Hexplo Games in San Cristóbal de La Laguna will trigger road closures and parking restrictions on Camino Tornero from September 19 to 20 to accommodate event setup and operations.

Hosting events in busy urban areas is once again putting traffic management to the test in San Cristóbal de La Laguna. According to a local council decree, the 2026 Hexplo Games will require a special traffic plan that will disrupt routines around Camino Tornero this coming weekend.

The restrictions will be in place from 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 19, until 11:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 20. While the event itself only takes place on Sunday between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., the longer timeframe is necessary to safely set up and dismantle equipment near the local Civic Center.

Under the new plan, all traffic will be banned on Camino Tornero between Amanecer and Aceviño streets. Additionally, parking will be prohibited on the stretch between Arzobispo Elías Yanes and Arrastre streets. To help local residents, the City Council is allowing two-way traffic for residents only on the section between Arzobispo Elías Yanes and Los Gemelos.

The Citizen Security department noted that these plans are subject to change. The council reserves the right to adjust road closures or reopen streets early depending on how the event progresses or if any safety concerns arise. This highlights the ongoing challenge of balancing the city’s busy events calendar with the need to keep local traffic moving.
