"Rosetera" Debuts in Arona, Honoring Rural Women
Caracolas will debut their song "Rosetera," a tribute to Arona's female craftworkers, at the Infanta Leonor Auditorium this Thursday as part of the "Matria" project and International Day of Rural Women celebrations.
This Thursday, the Infanta Leonor Auditorium in Arona will host the debut of "Rosetera," a song by Caracolas. It's a tribute to the women who've used their needles, thread, and memories to create a vital part of the town's craft and emotional history.
"Rosetera" comes from the "Roseteras de Arona" project and will be presented in a concert celebrating International Day of Rural Women on October 15th. Before the concert, there will be an exhibition. This event is part of "Matria," a project where the all-female band has been honoring the work, lives, and memories of grandmothers from the Canary Islands for years, turning them into the subjects of their songs.
The event, organized by the Arona City Council's Social Services and directed by Territorio Caracol, in partnership with the Tomasita Rosettes and Openwork Association, starts this afternoon at the Infanta Leonor Auditorium. You can visit the exhibition at 6:00 p.m., followed by the concert at 7:00 p.m.
